This is the kind of post that the Saturday Deep Dive was made for. In 2010, I posted a tip that I use constantly. It solves the issue of a scan bed that is too small or the art you've created. It's a quick, accurate, simle way to scan an art in two pieces and then reasemble them digitally. This is how to merge multiple scans.
