One of the most vexing issues for people in the creative field is matters of the law. It permeates every part of what we do, and, truthfully, many of us understand very little of it. Luckily, here's one way to get some qualified guidance.
24-Hour Comics Day is Saturday, Oct. 2.
The general idea is to stay up for 24 hours and do 24 consecutive pages of comics during that time. Go to the site for more details. You'll find many locations are hosting events for the day, but you'll have to register beforehand if you'd like to participate.

You need plateaus.
